Extremely rare and in exceptional condition for the issue
Lot 236
CILICIA OR CYPRUS. Uncertain, late 5th to mid 4th century BC. Tetartemorion (Silver, 7 mm, 0.20 g). Head of a boar to right. Rev. Blank. Astarte Web Auction 6 (2024), 92. Casabonne -. Göktürk - . Klein -. Leu Web Auction 26 (2023), 1383. SNG Levante -. SNG Paris -. Extremely rare and in exceptional condition for the issue. Slightly porous and with light scratches, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From a European collection, formed before 2005.
The attribution of these tiny coins remains uncertain. The unusual blank reverses suggest an origin in Cilicia or Cyprus, where similar coins were minted, notably in Mallos or Salamis. The present piece is an extraordinary example, not only showcasing the boar's head, only a few millimeters in size, with exceptional detail, but also leaving room for the carefully engraved and unusually complete pearl circle.
